You can fit slightly higher batteries with the flat dog tray but the box needs a little modification.
The clamp nearest the rear bulkhead is the issues so I changed the M6 threaded rod to an M8 then cut a small section of the rear lip away so you can access the strap and retaining nut. Will upload a picture later but Ive now got two Exides under the seat. My batteries are L317mm W175mm H175mm |

Ive got twin PC1500's fitted onto a D44 tray. No clearance issues..
