Saw this posted up on a Facebook page and thought the idea quite a nifty one and quite simple if you don't mind the "rugged" look.

OK for a crew cab with the more secure windows. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

never seen anything like that before (move the rear door inboard for increased security).....
can the passenger doors be moved inboard aswell - I guess in doing so it would reduce the amount of seating space making it difficult to drive away - different? |

I think you missed the point Caterham, they are modified body tree sliders with a bolt that will go across the door openings making the vehicle more secure, bit like the external door locks you see on expedition motors and tradesmens vans but more in keeping with Defender body protection.

I like it, looks good but works great as a security device. I am quite interested. 110 Hardtop

must be a bit thick, cant see how it works, one bit is bolted to the tub, and one bit is bolted to the door. oui? then what ? padlock?
Now what I think would be better, is if the tub body bit had an internal square section tube that slid out of the rear bit, and located in a 'hasp' at the front hinge position, then an internal lock, ( disclok type) was locked into place from the underside. thus a brace across the whole door. |

Looking at photos 3 I think that show some kind of internal lock as you've suggested.

Advert looks like it was withdrawn by the seller - so is this item available elsewhere?
