Selling the old steering wheel
I'm selling the old wheel from the Defender, had 1 bid already and someone has asked if it's a 36 or 48 Spline wheel?

I'm not sure how to tell looking at the back of the wheel.

Probably a 48 Catherine, it's the number of grooves running around the inside of the Steering wheel (that fit over the corresponding splines on the steering column)... Thumbs Up  Rog... Mr. Green

I shall put the side steps on here Martin Smile

I actually didn't think a plastic steering wheel would be that popular with the enthusiast to be honest.

Hi,

As its Xmas I have an XS steering wheel from a 2010 free to anyone wishing to collect. Stops my partner asking why it's on the rear seat and how much the new one was.

Otford/Sevenoaks area - PM me if interested.

Ho ho ho

^^^That is very generous of you! Thumbs Up

I sold mine on here for £20....people ask stupid money for them but I suppose if the demand is there for a steering wheel with a non-functional black continental quilt stuck in the middle?

I've had someone again ask about number of splines. I've looked at the back of the wheel and I just have 2 metal lugs.

Inside the hole in the middle are a load of little peaks and troughs - count the number of one or the other Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

An '07 Hard Top should be 48 splines, but count them.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

If you wrap a small piece of paper (just enoungh to fit round the splines) round the top of the steering column... squeeze the paper tight against the splines. Remove the paper and flatten it out. Should be easier to count the impressions that the splines made rather than trying to count them on the column. Thumbs Up
