fairly impressive really! Deeper wading depth than a defender certainly more than enough capability to compete in its class. Some clever technology too Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

it does amuse me that the Defender has the joint lowest wading depth which it shares with the Evoque.

I'd still like the wading radar and magnetic dampers More of what they would like you to see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c58rRzOAaSs |

Looks like that driver is going to get into trouble now:
http://www.icelandreview.com/news/2014/12/...ad-iceland I wonder if there will be any comeback on LR? Did they brief the journalists about not driving off route? and several other tourists have been fined this year for similar activities - although this seems a little too blatant: http://www.visir.is/biraefinn-utanvegaakst...4140909473 |

Am I the only one that thinks the disco sport is the blandest butt ugly car LR have ever produced??? You could stick a mazda badge on it and I would never have known

A defender rescues it - but hardly a normal one. Look at the size of the tyres on it.

I've been invited to the preview being hosted by Taggarts at Cameron House in January, going to take Mrs O along and see if it fits the bill for replacing her Q5, judgement is being reserved until we actually see it in the flesh 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Well had the test drive in a Sport (manual) today and I, for one, will certainly not be buying one.
Engine and power were great, steering was different to say the least It has electronic power steering but LR forgot about weighting it for higher speeds. The Boxster has the same type of system and the steering gets heavier the faster you go. Not it the Sport, it is very twitchy at higher speeds. I also thought the interior looked cheap, it was an HSE with leather seats but the rest was just a cheap looking plastic. Certainly better than the Freelander's I have driven and I would say it is a good replacement for that vehicle. LR will probably sell shed loads, just not to me Bob 2015 Jaguar XE240 R Sport - goes like ....... !! 2013 Defender 90 CSW - sold 2009 Defender 110 Double Cab - sold 2001 TD5 90 CSW - offroad project - sold to a forum member 2011 Porsche Boxster - for the sunny days ! |

I too had the same experience with those bloody security stickers!! Ruined my screen protecter taking it off... On a brighter note, the food was nice! I drove a HSE and HSE Lux in both auto and manual on Friday and again today. Overall, I think it's a nice vehicle. I'd never buy an Ewok because the seating position is simply too low and "car like". The Disco Sport however has a more elevated position, and is much nicer to drive! If I was given one for free, I would be happy to drive round in one. That said, I then went for a blast in a 5.0 Supercharged RR Sport....I certainly would prefer to be driving one of those rather than a Disco Sport An engine to TDi for! Pickles: Currently only the 2.2 Diesels that have been in the Freelander 2 and Evoque. Transmission wise it's either a six speed manual or 9 speed auto.
Later next year there will be new engines from the 'Ingenium' range that JLR have recently launched An engine to TDi for! "Land Rover- Proudly turning drivers into mechanics since 1948" |

I drove the 2.2 SD4 manual.
That is the only engine option available at present but there are manual and automatic versions. The new engine is not available until later in 2015.
