255/85R16 without lift?
I dont seem to be able to find a definitive answer on this online. I have a set of genuine boost alloys to go on our 110", definitely going for bfg muds (km2) but trying to decide between 265/75 and 255/85. Would prefer the taller tyre but not sure if it will rub on full bump at all with standard suspension.

If so will spacers (30mm) cure or just move the rubbing to the outer arch?

Cheers

If you are on genuine Boosts they have a 33mm offset - depending on your suspension it may rub with the 255's - you would be better with Wolfs which have more offset at 20.6mm or stick to 265's and adjust your steering stops to prevent rub

Ran all my 110 on Boost's with 255/85x16 BFG MT's both on and off road,, Standard suspension, and loaded, no problem The taller 85 tyre is worth it offroad ! California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

I've run 255s for ages but on ET0 offset wheels (33mm further outboard than the boosts).
You get a much better steering lock with this set up but if you're bouncing around offroad you will catch the arches a bit without a lift.

Strange,, I now run the 255/85 MT's on 7x16 +33mm Dakar rims for offroad,, not had any problems with it fully loaded and std suspension

As you say, lock is better, and car feels a tad more stable California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

They (the 255's) work fine with standard suspension on mine. Actually giving more lock and more under diff height than I had with the 265's.

Thumbs up from me.

I wish BFG ATs were more easily available at this height! KM2 all over the place, but AT is rare as rocking horse poop! 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

There is a new BFG AT 'KO2' out in the states now in 255/85/16, you can find it on their website, haven't seen anyone over here flogging them yet though.
Looks like it has a slightly more aggressive sidewall as well, link here:

Are there any tyres easily available in the UK in 255/85R16 than the KM2s?

I know the Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX exists in that size, but it doesn't seem to be available over here.

Doesn't appear to be? If you would consider 265/75 you could get a BFG AT instead. Have a play with the link below. I have found their prices hard to beat in the 305 size I'm looking for.

But can not see 255/85 listed http://social.bfgoodrichtires.com/BFG_KO2_Sizing+Availability.pdf

Tend to run 265/75x16 or 265/65x18 AT's for road use California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Got those new 18s then? Bowler ones?

When j ran 255.85 mts on wolf rims they just caught the outer eyebrow lip in the rear 110, on full bump. Two mins with a pen knife to cut the lil out fixed it.

Same tyres with boosts were fine with loaded vehicle. Cheers

I have 255/85R16 KM2's on Dotz Dakars, 16x7 ET8. Bang on. No probs on standard suspension even at full travel.

Just found what looks like an attempt to establish a definitive list of 255/85 tyres available. Could be quite useful. (I haven't looked at it yet!)
