Experienced this again today although slightly different happenings.
Was about to back out of the drive way so I started the truck up and turned on the AC, heard the condenser fan kick in but there was no air coming out of the vents. Tried the blower switch, no joy as well. Then I noticed the car charger wasn't lit so the entire center cluster had no power. Dash warning lights stayed off this time though. So I backed up the drive way and went to close the gate, when I get back, the car charger was again lit and power was restored to the center console. I'm suspecting a loose connection somewhere as I think we maybe yanked something when we changed the bulb in the hazard light switch? We just pried open the center bit without disconnecting the other connections. I just want to run this by everyone to see if it's a simple fix or something more sinister is afoot. The truck becomes an in-patient this weekend to have the cooling coil thermostat replaced so maybe once they put everything back together things will be OK? |

Hi munch90, actually the ignition switch was checked a few months back and it's still in good condition so it can't be that though I'll tell them to look at it again.
Hi bpman, will give those a push then. Haven't done that yet. Thanks! |

Not a Puma I know, but I had a similar problem recently with my Td5 90, I eventually traced it to a loose earth connection between chassis and bulkhead, a number of system earth points come together at the bulkhead and I was getting a voltage drop across the bad connection.
Just a thought. |

^^^^ I was going to suggest that too, earthing faults can cause all manner of weird happenings especially lights lighting up and all sorts.
An easy earth to access is the rear lighting earth strap on the transfer box, check that is tightened and a clean connection. If you've had a clutch changed then it might well have been disconnected or worked loose it's self. There is another on the the front chassis outrigger, think it's the OS but can't quite remember. The tow socket if you have one may be worth looking at too but leave that until last. I'm thinking earthing myself. |
