I think that they put a pump in the tank on the 2.2's, the 2.4's don't but am sure an adult will be along in a bit to confirm.

Mine does the same so don't worry - unless both of ours are broken
It appears to be the fuel pump in the rear tank. Easy to check if your sound is coming from there, sit in the vehicle and turn the ignition on and then off after a couple of seconds and you will hear the pump running on for 10 to 20 seconds before it stops. Thanks bob!I am a bit paranoid as ive done 500 miles and nothing has fallen off,leaked( flip i hope i havent jinxed it now)or broken............fingers crossed martin.........ps ive used flip instead of
