Did the dealer check for any logged DTCs on the engine management system?
My gut instinct says fuel, possibly a faulty Volume Control Valve (VCV) on the fuel pump. |

TPS faults should give rise to logged DTCs, however the LP fuel system and VCV are poorly monitored and faults in these don't tend to cause DTCs, but can cause all manner of symptoms including the sort of thing you describe.
I'd be looking for contaminated fuel, blocked filter, and VCV problems. The latter is hard to confirm except by replacing the valve (around £100 for the valve), although you may notice irregularities in the fuel rail pressure if you can get live data to spot these. I had a contaminated fuel problem (there's a thread on it somewhere here) which killed the VCV and it took me a while to diagnose. The symptoms included a complete loss of power, zero throttle response, rough idle and stalling. |

Black Wolf just read through your thread on contaminated fuel, think you could well be right about the volume control valve. What I cant quite get my head round is why it takes a while for the fault to develop i.e why is it worse with engine hot, thanks very much for input will let you know how I get on.

Perhaps the discussion located in this thread will help you? It helped solve a power loss problem for me...
