The part you are looking for should be in here somewhere.

TSC500020 is the gearstick lower assembly, the nylon ball that forms the lever pivot wears allowing movement.

Thanks Rakthi for the exploded diagrahm, and 5th Horseman for the part number and direction to the rattle problem. Has anyone sourced the gearstick lower assembly as a Ford Transit part and can comment on price difference?
Thanks LR90XS2011. I've been very happy with the Puma. Plenty of warranty work in the first 100,000kms with build quality issues mainly, but since then it's been pretty low cost and reliable. Some little stuff, but the engine and all the running gear are superb, quiet & efficient...long term keeper I hope. |

I think you'll be out of luck with a transit part, the metal casting is custom made for the Defender application, it includes the support for the transfer gear and diff lock lever and I think the gear lever itself is also unique.
The wear is due to a poor choice of materials for the pivot ball and its carrier (the ball itself seems to be too soft a grade of plastic and wears, whilst the carrier does not seem to). |
