Hi Landlocked
Lovely motor, I tired for ages to source a grey 110 but ended up with black as my wife bought a grey Q5 in the meantime I have added my thoughts to your list below [quote="landlocked"]Hey Everyone! So after wrestling the 90 vs 110 debate for a while I took the plunge on a 110 XS SW in corris grey, to be delivered in December i believe. Already planning the first trip to the swiss alps in feb! I'm planning on doing a fair amount of mods over time, and would appreciate your experienced views on suppliers/fitters and anything i might have missed out! From the dealer: rear step bumper - Flatdog carpet floor trim Leather premium seat - is this worth it over the standard xs? i tend to do long journeys of 3 hours+ 90% of the time. - I have the half leather model in my current car and have found them a big improvement over the seats in my 2012 XS load space rubber mat mid row rubber mat front mat carpet - Speak to Dan at Duckworth for your OEM accessories I saved ££ on my A Bar with him Aftermarket: Fuji White roof - any recommendations on a supplier? - Best to find a local paintshop with experience in painting Defenders P6 Performance - this is a twisted option which i think is remap, exhaust and filter, hopefully making top end motorway cruising a little easier - Have a look at Alive Tuning, IRB & Bell Auto Services theres been multiple threads on here about tuning, I elected to go with Alive after doing my research Cruise control - can anybody recommend somebody? - Tim at Mobilecentre supplies CC worth a call or PM wheels & tyres - big fat ones - Lots to choose from Silverline Manta, Urban Truck Boost & Sawtooth in 18inch, JE Apollo, Twisted Sport, I opted for Bowler Defender Challenge wheels headlight crystal - crystal lenses with xenon bulbs - Flatdog led rear lights - Flatdog have the full selection of clear or coloured led nardi wheel & coloumn soundproofing & Waxoyl - possibly done by csk? Available from Alive, Urban Truck and IRB too, I had my 110 Dinitroled by Zagato who wrote the definitive thread on anti corrosion treatment for Defenders rear wheel carrier arm - I have the Nakatenga stainless one from Brandan at Overlander 4x4 awesome kit alpine media install with rear view camera, and focal audio - possibly fitted by audio file? bilstein shocks & dampers - Alive, Urban Truck & IRB are the main guys when it comes to dampers and springs Privacy Glass - I used Pentagon as they do all the LR main dealer work up here, worth asking who does it for your dealer Black Mouldings from the base model for the front grill and lights - Dan at Duckworth Parts again What do you guys think? This is it starting, you'll find lots of goodies as you go i.e. FCX Leather & glove box the quality is ,Mud seat rails, stainless bolts, security hinges for your bonnet...................the list is endless!!! The best thing to do is get in it and drive it and enjoy it 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE Last edited by jomara on 7th Sep 2014 1:32pm. Shameless plug for www.FCX.co.uk
Try BAS for your remap, they are very close to Twisted (also there's a lot of talk about how ineffective 'performance' filters are) - we are also a BAS remap centre Mobile Centre for cruise control - we are also a Mobile Centre reseller / installer Zagato for corrosion prevention - he is the BEST and won't rip you off We carry out sound proofing, leather upgrades etc - Dynamat available or cheaper Skinz Premium seats are standard seats with a frame added to include the headrest and then different covers fitted. Rear LED lights from us or Mobile Centre We have a demonstrator here that is recognised industry wide as featuring one of the best (if not the best) Defender interior and features most of our products we have available |

My 110 is almost 12 months old now. I spent the extra for the premium seats. Well worth the extra money!!! I occasionaly have a bit of back trouble but 2 trips to Croatia and not a niggle. Very comfy I would always spec these now if I were to buy another Defender. But to be honest, I can't see me selling mine any time soon 110 D250 SE HT

@Grizz - My orders been brought forward also, looking like delivery at the end of October still haven't sourced a London parking space yet though
@Jomara - really helpful! thanks for taking the time to respond. I'm going to explore alive for a few options as they're just up the road in grimsby and can probably do most of the things i'm looking at. @Go Beyond - spotted you on here already will likely be purchasing a leather cubby and some dash bits later on once i've got some of the bigger jobs done. @Walfy - premium seats ordered! i need to take a little luxury with me coming from evoque Thanks for pointing out Zagato, definitely seems very thorough and always keen to support the forum. Do you guys think i'd be ok waiting a few weeks/months whilst i get all the exterior mods done so that when i get to this job everything is covered, rather than taking off bits that have been covered and having to do it again? |

My car was 3 months old when I took it to Zag, I did however spend 3 hours under it with the pressure washer to make sure everything was clean, I then spent 2 weeks driving around avoiding loose dirt and puddles to allow the chassis to dry out before it was dinitrolled!! 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Picked up the truck from Marshalls on the 1st November and it it was straight up to thirsk to transform the car in to the image of what i've been imagining for roughly a year! Picked up on the 15th, a quick trip Aysgarth falls, then back to lincolnshire and now resting up in london.

Very nice .. And nice wheels too
I've just fitted some dirt d-fenders .. Really helps stopping the crud spraying up the sides from the front wheels. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X |
