Last night (18/11/14) between 6pm and 8am this morning a pair of winches were stolen off the FCX trayback from the FCX HQ in Headcorn Kent.
The front was a Gigglepin twin motor 8274 and the rear a standard 8274. Also taken was an X-eng ground anchor Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

What is particularly upsetting is that the winches were targeted, other items were not touched which very much points at it being someone who is also an offroader

Have any members of the traveling community suddenly appeared in your area. A few months we had a group that appeared and over the time they were here the amount of items stolen from farms and cottages was unbelievable.

Sorry about the loss of your kit, Unfortunately there are all too many so called Land rover owners willing to buy items at a knock down price that have been stolen. As well as hammering the thieving scroats the law should also hammer the equally as bad people that knowingly buy stolen kit.

Having an address available sadly puts you at high risk, lots of jealous people about that will simply choose the easiest target.
I've came across people on the street even that have a problem with me owning a Defener on sight. Will your insurance cover? |

You're right Steve, that's one of the downsides of running a business based on your hobby. |

Sorry Matt, I disagree with you. The people involved were not offroaders, they are first and foremost thieving lowlife scumbags!.
As for so called 'restorative justice' that to me is not saying sorry over a cup of tea and biscuits it is restoring the victim to the state they were in before the thieving scumbags come along. Brendan |

This is so sad to hear Matt, we must all feel for you being yet another target for low life scum...
Is it ever going to end? Probably not in our life time because there is no real deterrent... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al |

Sorry hear the bad news. Not the sort of items you walk out with under your arm, I bet the twin motor one was heavy. No CCTV in the area? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Both sound like fairly specialist pieces of kit. Do you have any detailed photos you can post so people can be on the lookout? Any serial numbers?
If you believe in Karma then maybe the faster winch speed will surprise them and whilst re-spooling the rope there will be a nasty accident with fingers involved. |

Sorry to hear your news Go Beyond
Always depressing that the hard work of some, is stolen by others... Makes you wonder what measures to take... Maybe some 'specialist hardware' and a shovel... Click image to enlarge Remote I know, but hope you get lucky and something turns up SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |
