Thirty five years ago I flipped a series 2a short wheel base that jack knifed while on the motorway, the M62 at Eastrington while I was towing a large trailer, the overrun brakes locked on the trailer which caused the jack knife, although mine rolled and landed on its roof, fortunately I suffered no injuries and luckily the motorway was not busy so no other vehicle was involved. However because the Land Rover was upside down the engine sucked the oil out of the oil bath filter and was running on oil and diesel the amount of black smoke that came out of the exhaust was like an atom bomb cloud and of course I could not switch off the engine. The cloud of smoke could be seen for miles. The Land Rover was written off and I was prosecuted under the construction and use law and fined twenty pounds. The trailer was brand new and I successfully sued the company who made it for supplying a new trailer with defective brakes.

Seems a strange position to end up in looking at the skid marks just be the light blue vehicle and the debris on the road in front of the box van Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

I was actually driving the other way up the A12 and pasted this accident just after it had happened. People were running from their cars to help the driver out.
