I wouldn't recommend it. And to be honest I don't think the airlift springs are a very good solution to a Defender if it sees anything except road driving or very mild off road use anyhow.
I don't run any lift, but with a heavy car in tough use the air helpers were nothing but a right pain... |

Well Timo K, I see your point but luckily, I don't plan any heavy offroading with the car, only light offroading like gravel tracks and mild green lanes. I intend to use the car for family 'adventures', taking the camper unit to places like Scotland, Iceland, Sweden etc.. (when the kids grow up, it will be more like "France, Italy, Spain" I guess). So it will be mostly motorways and B-roads, and occasional unpaved roads that lead to nice places to camp.
The reason I want the adjustable firmness of the suspension is that occasionally, I will use the car without the camper unit. I am still in the process of building that unit, so I don't know for sure at what weight it will come in, but I as the car is now, I find it quite "bouncy" with no load in the back and on stock inner and outer springs. So I am looking for a way to adjust the harshness of the ride while still being able to carry some load. I have read good reviews on the Air Lift 1000, so that got me interested. Then, with anti-roll bars and spacers that fit inside the steel spring, it could be a good solution for you. They don't handle articulation well at all, and the airbags are very short for even a stock Defenders full articulation.
