Anyone else caught by the scooby bug? Not been possible to own one yet, but maybe in the not too distant future...
Considering a cheapo (late 90s) one as a bit of a track day hoon. Anyone have any experience? Personally think this is one of the most beautiful cars ever made, in its own way. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

The one pictured by you Walfy, the 2 door 22b is the only one worth having. All others are wannabe chav mobiles, the 22b is the true icon of the Impreza. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Click image to enlarge Scratched that itch already.... 1998 WR Sport. Great car and plenty fast enough. Nowadays a decent diesel Audi or BMW could beat it though. Still miss the burble though from the exhaust Would happily take a P1. |

In a past life I was scooby through and through I will be again if I ever need just a car rather than an automotive Swiss army knife. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I quite like scoobys (thats how there all badged in Essex ) If I had the choice though I'd have an evo in that sort of price range. In reality I would'nt be able to face the shame of driving either round Essex, An E30 M3 would be a different matter though Defender puma dormobile camper

Cossie's all the way !!! Had several and performed even more engine rebuilds !!! But that was part of the fun of ownership! That was back in the early days of hybrid turbo's and superchips !! The last was sold for sponsorship of the now wife and child Happy days 450+ BHP rear wheel drive with 205 tyres !!
Came close to a scooby ownership on a couple of occasions. Unfortunately , like nearly all jap cars the interior was awful ....... Cheap...... The closesest I came was the new shape 330s what a car, but still awful inside! The dealer had sold there demo before our agreed test drive. New owner agreed we could still have a go, and I was smiing ear to ear !! The deal was on the table, but fortunately the new owner was waiting to show off his new purchase upon our return. That was enough, and we quickly walked away !! Still could be worse, I drive a defender now !! |
