Cheers Si, Was hoping someone was going to tell me the nano would do the job, so I could ask for a borrow.
Now got a box full of electronic gizmos from Alive. I feel sooooo old, not used to these things, but massive thanks to Gary for the assistance at turbo speed. Not sure when he sleeps, he's always there to answer questions. Andy |

Massive massive thanks to Gary from Alive. He sent me a box of tricks to do some diagnostics on my truck. I changed the VCV and sent info back and forth to Gary, and although I could improve the fault I was not happy that it was completely resolved. Due to changing the VCV and altering the programming my very loud knock that sounded like big ends gone, went to a rattly cold engine, so was happy to drive up to Alive headquarters.
When I got there Gary reprogrammed all the ECU, and did many other bits playing with his various bits of kit, including relearning the pump and programming the VCV. All sorted now, goes better than ever, and quiet (as a nasty transit can). The BBS Faultmate was a PITA and certainly won't be buying one now, will just make sure I keep Gary as a friend. So again. Massive thanks to Gary and his team, Dan at Duckworth's, for sorting the parts ASAP, and all those who commented on here. Andy |

Yes massive relief, was not a good holiday when it starts knocking its bits off on day one, and by the end I thought engine was toast.
I'm now talking to him, and even better I've got the tunes going again and enjoying driving, not waiting for terminal destruction. I've told him though, any more funny business, and he's going to be replaced.. Andy |

I'm so happy it's now sorted, Andy, and you can now enjoy your Alive remap the way it should be.
I fully expected the Faultmate MSV I sent you, would have done the job, meaning you wouldn't have to drive up to Alive HQ. I can't believe how MSV kept failing, and yet it went through all procedures first attempt with SDD! |

Aggrrrrrr.
I changed the VCV but unfortunatly the puma didn't cooperate It fired difficulty and idled rough for 5 secs and then dead I retried many times till it would start at all!! I bled the fuel pump(the hose tha comes from the tank) then fired and dead again. At the end i refitted the original VCV,it fired at first try and idles ok,hope it drives well too. So in my case the VCV swap requires pump learn at once? Now that i fitted the original back, should i get a pump learn done ASAP? |
