You are right Ken, just get annoyed when people get charged for driving along public roads, but I suppose if they want to pay then fair enough,
Maybe I should be charging more than a melon and three ripe bananas eh Cibit Original Member Pie n Pea Club. 110 HCPU Tipper |

Your right Willy and I fully agree with Kens comment.
It's a difficult one though, especially if you were trying to break into the overland organisation business. I enjoy the facts that all the trips we run as a forum are: 1. Free 2. A proper laugh 3. Open to all and not just Defenders.......even Tack in his D3 which got so much taken out of it, he felt compelled to by a new utilily. Just my opinion. Ian |

You could always post a signup for an alternative laning event, same routes, but for free
I do agree with you, there have been a few Peak District laning trips on D3 that were FOC and purely for the benefit of the members. I have also run several off road days at the Tong off road site and only charged the site hire fee, no profit ever made!! Andy |

Mick you are probably right he's ran out of goodwill. Maybe too many people taking him for granted or he might just be looking for a fast buck, who knows. If people feel they are getting a good service from him then it's up to them if they want to pay him £50. But it would be good if he did help out with trail maintenance or contributed cash to it.

How's about the next event you have up North I charge everyone £5 for the pleasure of having my southern charm, whit, personality and striking good looks in attendance? After all it has taken previous generations of evolvement and myself 48 years to finely hone it!
That was a joke by the way but if anyone feels compelled to divvy up it'll go to my snorkel fund! On a serious note 'Good point Willy and extremely well presented!' If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
