so... what happens when you really need a Wolf wheel?
http://www.nelsonpub.com/cms/dfx/opens/art...&pn=04 The above came through my work related mail the other day. And I have no doubt that it is the future of the car wheel, it makes a lot of sense for 99.8% of the driving. There is an excellent current post on steel wheels and their um, flexibility in bashing them if needed when out bush (and I have seen it done). But, I suspect that they will be very hard to come by soon. I have seen the future of the wheel ... Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ... |

Whilst I'm a huge fan of all things carbon (ooh, nice seat post sir....etc), and stick it on whatever and wherever I can, I would hope that these wheels will only ever be added to Defenders by Premiership Footballers. If this is the future of the wheel, someone should start a Wolf Preservation Society...... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Timo,
If you are interested, I have just bought a set of Blindos (x4) direct from the factory. With delivery to France it was approx 800€. Bloody bargain when compared with UK price and delivery to France. The company that make them (they are the originals as used by the MOD in the UK) are AR Casting in Italy and the wheel is called the F15 Tech. Worth a call? Really good info, thanks. I'll look into it once I get my lighting and suspension needs met first.

I think the tyre manufacturers will have a bigger influence on what wheels we will be using in the future. interesting ideas from Hankook:

Carbon fibre wheels have been affordable on motorbikes for 15 years or so,I'm surprised that they're not widely available for cars yet, being my usual cynical self, carbon wheels will be the least of our worries in 5 years let alone 10. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
