indicators not flashing, glowing solid
my indicators on my MY12 90XS aren`t flashing they`re just staying on solid when I use them. Exactly the same as what`s happening on the dash binnacle. Also the centre console isn`t illuminating when I put the lights on

Any ideas folks?

Indicator Relay sticking? With regards to the dash lost supply or bad earth. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

A new relay cured this when my disco had the same problem. Smile

Relay or earth, the relay is easiest to check first.
Earth faults can cause all sorts of barmy things to happen.

If it's a 2012 why not just take it back to a dealers under warranty?

Exactly what my 2011 110 is doing. LR technical said the first place to start is the relay, replace that. If that doesn't fix it it'll be the indicator stalk, replace that. If that doesn't fix it it'll be the hazard light switch, replace that.

I'm at stage one at the moment, got a new relay on order. Hopefully that'll do it. A new relay is £46 (FFS).

AndyS I love the Dealers diagnosis of just keep buying new parts till it's fixed. If a relay is £46 how much is a new indicator switch going to be?! Don't they have any 'mechanics' who can use a multimeter. Confused 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

As I collect my new relay tomorrow I thought I'd butcher the old one to see if I could make it work in a bodge-up style that is fitting of my "why fix it properly" motto. So, using my smallest flat head screwdriver I levered a gap between the base plate (with the four prongs on) and the side casing, then squirted a bit of GT85 down the gap and shook the relay to disperse the GT85 evenly (no more than three shakes, mind). After wiping off the excess over-squirt I refitted the relay and it seems to work fine. Of course, it's early days on this impromptu bodge but it seems to work (FFS, why didn't I do this before ordering a new one), if even in the sort term to get you through an MOT or until you can finance a pay-day loan for a new one.

Andy, 46£ for a flasher relay from the dealer? Shocked Why don't you order the RDX relay from bolt on bits which works perfectly with normal bulbs, but also with LED flashers or a mix of bulbs and LED flashers? And it is quite a bit cheaper too. Many on here who have upgraded to LED flashers, (including myself for the rear ones on my SVX) have this relay, and it works a treat. Thumbs Up

ericvv, I needed one quick and didn't have time to shop (got an MOT to sort out) but if I'd have found the RDX one I've have bought that. In fact, I get it anyway.

Thanks
Andy.
