Hi Joe,
I've got Land Rover's own silver fitted! It is down to personal choice but I would say personally that the Land Rover supplied option is the best quality and the finish of the silver very resilient and after a year fitted no tarnishing and cleans up like new! Can't say anything about the black but for me I would pay the extra, stick with Land Rover supplied and go silver next time too! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Alreight Joe. My Landy is silver and has the Genuine black chequer plating which I think looks good, and gives it a bit of contrast. For me as a general rule it would be, dark colours look better with silver, lighter colours black, but thats just me. What colour is your 90 Joe?.

My landy is rutland red as shown on the left hand side of this page. I think black would probably look best as it would blend in quite well with all the other black stuff on my ninety. i.e. wing mirrors, wheel arches, headlight surrounds etc. Am I just simply thinking about this to much? Thanks for the help so far guys.

No, I spend weeks thinking about what colour/style/make parts to put on the car. I'd agree with your thoughts though - go with black to match the mirrors, air intakes, sills etc. Personally I went with black Mammouth and can highly recommend it. Peter 2008 SWB Truck Cab 1952 80" Soft top |

Standard available finishes are natural, silver or black
Natural is cheaper and will dull off/tarnish quickly Silver will tend to reflect light into your eyes more So my choice as fitted to both our 110's is black Other alternative is to buy natural and then get it powdered coated to match your vehicle hth Brendan |

I have OEM black and it seems pretty durable (It regularly gets used as a step/workbench/tool store...)
Black will definitely suit the Red better IMHO. As Discocuzzy says, you don't have to go for LR original. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |
