Dixon Bate won't fit!
I have just called for a price on a Dixon Bate adjustable tow bar and Paddocks are saying they will not fit a 2010 onwards Defender Sad Do I really have to get a genuine Land Rover one - ouch that won't be cheap!!

That's what I thought, Craddocks also say there is no aftermarket one so £199 from a LR dealer plus £82 for the N type wiring harness.

Will check out Witter - thanks

Anyone know how they wire up - does the harness just plug in somewhere?

Just called Witter and they don't do an adjustable one........!

Couldn't do a search on E-Bay - came up with vehicles not very good at E-Bay rarely use it Neutral

Bought a 'genuine LR' one from the web (thought it might be better quality). It was same price as Dixon-Bate one.

Comes with a Dixon-Bate sticker on it!

And fits my 2010 MY 110 perfectly.

Thanks James - perhaps Dixon & Bate are not allowed to sell them in aftermarket form but under the LR name only. Can you remember where you got yours, did you wire it yourself?

Got mine from lrdirect.com (although most people charge similar amounts). £108 + VAT.

Part no. LR007222

Yes, I wired it myself - Took about 10 mins.

You need wiring kit as well of course - Should just plug and play.

Could it be the paddocks ones are not type approved...i wouldnt be surprised if thats the case, despite the legislation changing in 1999 Mike

Did you find one yet?

IIRC I have a genuine parts one in the garage and the wiring which just plugs in to the loom. I took it off my last one when I sold it. Still has the type approval stickers on it - assuming the current one is the same as an 07 John
