My original Land Rover Wolf wheel/Nokian winter tire combos went on at the dealer today. I asked them to use plenty of copper slip. Here is the result....

Now I'm left wondering what Fullfat's rims weighed in at ...... before he put the tyres on.
Left wondering if one of his genuine LR HD rims weighed more than the 17kgs the TerrafirMa 4X4 (1500 kg) version that I was examining at the weekend (and weighed on the bathroom scales)? |

BF website states tyre weight as 54.5 (assume lbs) so that's 24.72078 kg
Subtracted from total of 42kg, leaves wheel weight of 17.27922 kg and max tyre loading is 1549.018 kg but at a massive 80 psi! |

Thanks - So it looks like 17 kg (give or take a few grams and a set of non-calibrated bathroom scales) a is the weight of a HD Wolf Rim.

I will check the spare rim tonight as it's not got a tyre fitted yet, will be on bathroom scales but these have served my waistline well for years !!

Just in time for December - A nice man has delivered a set of new Wolf style wheel rims with Goodyear MT/R tyres. I look forward to reporting on how they perform over the coming months.
Thanks to forum members for their earlier contributions - most informative. |

Took delivery of the 1500kg HD Rims from TerraFirma.
And followed EricV's picture and got a tin of Coppergrease to complete the look (and make future wheel changes a rapid job on a cold wet day). |

Cuthbert, how are you getting on with your HD's and MT/R's, any pics? Did you have to fit extended studs? |

Very happy with HD Rims (the 1500kg versions) and the MT/R tyres. As other more experienced folk have pointed out - and I'm happy to confirm - There was no need to fit extended wheel studs but I needed a torque wrench to ensure the wheel nuts were correctly set.
This is how it looks - very dull and boring (bit like myself) Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

These look fantastic. I know this was posted a while ago, but could you tell me what colour they have been painted? |
