PM Claire or David Wright on here, they are Landyglass.....
![]()
That'll be six years now as the quote was a year old this month. Loads of pictures already if you do a search..... ![]() You can fit yourself and there is even a 'how to' on their website. Nevertheless I went professional fit by a local Landyglass fitter. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic22833....landyglass If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! I knew you'd search for me Mal.
![]() I've just read through the full thread this eve that you posted. As your not a million miles away. (Compared to many) where did you get yours done? Did the fitting cost much or was it reasonable? (You don't have to answer the latter if you choose not to) As you had the sliding type windows before like I currently do now, what does it look like from the inside? I'm assuming the view out is no different or are the sides cut out more? |

Landyglass is now called VGS still same standard of products we have just rebranded ,we do plant machinery, van conversions, windscreens as well as landrover conversions, dave has been in the automotive trade for over 30 years, fully qualified in vehicle glazing...one to one service for advise and fitting, dave is a perfectionist and wants his products fitted correctly and he prefers to fit the products himself so he knows the job is done correctly.always happy to answer questions if contacted.

Said it before Ken and perhaps not everyone's cup of tea but that for me was one of the best looking Defenders I've seen.....If it was up for sale now??????
Yeah, It'll do the searching on behalf of all those that can't seem to be able to locate the search facility Martin has kindly provided and for those that just can't be ar5ed! A little point in the right direction costs nowt but a little of my time. It surprises me how some people manage to find their own butts to clean up after taking a dump sometimes. ![]() The app is free too! ![]() Steve spending as much as you will on the glass do you really want to fit yourself? There is no cutting involved on a SW and I used the careful removal and subsequent sale of my removed windows to offset the cost of fitting. Leave fitting to the professionals and you'll always have redress if it goes wrong, or you're not happy. My authorised fitter was only two miles from my house. http://www.windscreendorset.co.uk/about.html **EDIT** Steve there's an internal shot of how it looks on this thread......Last post........ ![]() http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic29204....landyglass If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! VGS (Vehicle Glazing Specialists) previously Landyglass are highly, HIGHLY, recommended by FCX and are the only company we would entertain using for our glazing requirements

^^^
![]() ![]() ![]() It was only recently I decided to have the rear Safari Door glass swapped out for VGS (Landyglass) too. Worth the expenditure as due to the reflectiveness of the tint I had on the old glass I couldn't see anything through my rear view mirror and the top three bars of the heater were shot anyway. The view through the sides are more 'panoramic' as you don't have the sliding window frames or middle seperator. From a security perspective Steve the sliders can't be forced or the rear quarters forced in or popped out which is a good thing in my book. The service I got from both VGS and my local fitter was unquestionable. ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Dave has fitted glass to both my landrovers, my old 90 and now my new 110.
Very nice guy, very good at what he does and also a massive perfectionist. Goes to almost extreme lengths to ensure a decent fit and an OEM look. Also fixes a few items that LR might have missed along the way ![]() Can't recomend too highly! James |

To be a bore I will add that I went especially to Birmingham for a weeks break as I wanted Dave to fit the Landyglass to my Puma. To echo what everyone else says the product is well designed and IMHO looks the dogs bo**ocks. The bonus for me was that the designer fitted it for me and made it look effortless. As to longevity I have no doubts that it will look as good in ten years time, if not I have no doubts Dave will put it right. As far as I am concerned it is a no brainier in getting it fitted both for looks and the additional security it provides. JMTW.
