I'm looking for another Defender to replace the one I should've never sold.
I have a pretty broad spectrum to what will fit the bill. I'm not really after some tricked up off road unit more of a suitable load lugger with a durable interior. I do have a large soft spot for dark sliver or keswick green running on twisted wheels. But really colour isn't important. I wouldn't mind buying a puma (as I've not had one) but any td5 post 2002 would be ok. A discovery ratio transfer box would be a plus on a td5. Budget is around 15K. I'm based in Buckinghamshire, not huge fan of traveling miles to view a landy, but anything in a radius of 100 miles wouldn't be to bad. Here's a picture as an example of a 90 that gets me going weak at the knees. Click image to enlarge Last edited by TVR Tommy on 10th Oct 2014 10:20am. Edited 1 time in total |

Thanks everyone for pming me with your landys. Unfortunately nothing really has been what I'm looking for.
I guess I should refine my criteria. I do like the outside of my defenders to be clean and tidy, as I do use it for work and it needs to be presentable. The inside is less of a concern. My budget of around £15k is for something perfectly suiting, which needs nothing doing to it, which I know I'm unlikely to find. An 8-10k defender then gives me the budget to get it to what I ideally want. I would say a 90 is my preference as I really don't need the extra room of a 110. I do have a bit of a soft spot for the 90. But a perfect 110 twin cab would fit the bill. Stupid as it sounds Twisted wheels are a bit of a must have on this defender, They rarely come up for sale second hand on there own and buying off twisted direct, the thought makes my eyes water. So buying a landy with them already fitted would be a bonus. Saying all that Mach 5 wheels would also fit the bill. I do like chunky wheels and tyres on my landy. Colours I struggle to like are light silver, solid red and green are not for me. But bronze green, heritage green or keswick green I do like, oh and white I'm not a fan of. If you've put your defender up for sale in any of the normal places, Don't worry I would've seen it as I'm currently trawling the classified. My post is more aimed at the people thinking about selling but haven't yet put it up, or are thinking of trading in there defenders. I've already missed out on a nice 90 that sold quick sharp and the next day is put up for sale with a 4.5K mark up. So trying to side step that and just offer a landy a good home. I do have the cash burning a rather large defender shaped hole in my pocket at the minute. |

Likeomg Your defender looks really great and would be just what I'd like to buy. But at a guess it'll be outside my budget.

So you cars that are
British made Based on a separate chassis (that rusts) Have a Body that doesn't rust (but isn't very safe and has bad alignment) Uses lots of Rover parts Have questionable reliability Are very noisy Known to leak Has the battery in the passenger well somewhere. ( I know ) |
