Swivel Housing kit
Does anyone know where I can source a swivel housing kit for my ABS defender

THAT ISN'T BRITPART

I've been through all the suppliers websites I can think of and only britpart appears. Big Cry

Thanks in advance

So I spoke to Barry4x4 (<<Great people) super helpful.
And they have come up with the following parts list. It is more expensive than britpart but I think it will be worth it.
Here is the list of things if anyone else needs it.

I recently did my swivel balls using a Britpart swivel kit and OEM seals and bearings.

LRDirect list the britpart balls as OEM, but beware the Britpart swivel kit has a lower price than the Britpart OEM swivel ball on its own. Wish I had seen that earlier Embarassed

While you are there also replace the stub axle bearing (FTC861), seal (FTC840 for ABS or FTC5268 nonABS) and thrust washer (FTC56).

Also condider replacing the hub bearings (STC4382), at least regrease them. To do that you will need a new inner hub seal (FTC4785).

Don't forget that you need a 12-point socket to loosen the brake caliper and a ratchet spanner will save you lots of time removing the swivel balls from the axle. Martin

Both of mine are Britpart - been at least 5 years for one of them and no issues yet.

Naturally the seals and bearings were bought separately, decent makes (Timken etc)

Collating what has been said above gives a parts list of these:

TAR100050 Gen 1 Swivel Pin Kit Upper ABS Genuine
606666 1 Swivel Bearing Lower 2 needed per side
FTC5366 1 Swivel Ball Housing
FTC3401 1 Ball Seal
FRC4206 1 Ball Seal Retainer Gasket
FTC4785 1 Hub Seal
571752 Flange Gasket
RFD10000 Hub Nut
FTC 3650 Stub Gasket
FTC 3646 Swivel Ball Gasket
FTC 3435 Swivel Grease Sachet
FTC861 axle bearing,
FTC 5268 stub axle seal for ABS
FTC 56 thrust washer.

The stub axle seal has been updated to the latest version.

Land Rover main dealer parts quoted £650.82 for both sides. including VAT.

Is a 12-point socket different to the ordinary type or special?

Can anyone advise if any other parts are needed before the job starts, just don't want the car off the road because of a missing part.
