I too thought all post 2007 110s are using the same rear axle, diff and springs. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

The salisbury was avaiable in standard and HD forms... the HD has standard internals, just a heavier casing (there were extra webbings and welds inside, especially where the tubes join the main differential housing)
Just looking though microcat at the puma and late Td5 defenders. a HD rear axle is optional on 110's, and standard on 130's, but looking through the individual parts, there seems to be no difference in bits... there is the 4 pin rear differential, which seems standard on 110's (or at least, the later ones), and standard on all 130s. same halfshafts, brakes, stub axles on "standard" and "HD", so what actually is different is hard to see. Front axles are available in standard and HD. difference being vented discs and 4 pin differential on the HD ones. |
