Almost in Reading and with 550 miles on the clock and no orange light. As you perhaps know I've done more than 600 miles before so nothing special except for the fact I'm driving 'enthusiastically ' often seeing 3500rpm. So ok I am cheating a little......
I've topped up with 10ltr of home brew (bio) but even so I'll be getting well in excess of 500 miles so me thinks you're all doing something very wrong? I'm also running an IRB410 but which accounts for +10% but even so can understand how so many are down round 350 miles per tank? |

The 500 mile target will naturally be for 110s. 90s will never achieve that distance. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

No Bio is good, syphon all your diesel out, replace with bio and give the truck a good thrashing, do it the world of good and give you something else to focus on!

+ 550 miles to a tank,.... and BIO in a Puma........
You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

I'm more than happy with mine. I get 400 before the light comes on, local driving stop starts and max distance of 20 mile trips. It does drop to 370 on 65/70 mph motorway trips though.

Just in case anybody may be remotely interested whilst 'clinging on to the abyss' I have a 90 and like Likeomg I get 260-270 'Moans Per Gloat.'

And me, I've got a 90 too. Hope this isn't a 90vs 110 squabble.

For years now I've not let the fuel in any vehicle in our fleet get so low as to ping a warning light, I just don't do it as I like to keep them topped up so should I need to use them in an emergency I don't have a last minute panic to get fuel. Now SWMBO is at the other end of the scale - often literally
As for MPG, FFS it's a Defender, a crude, basic, cobbled together truck the product of last century design not some granny micro mobile running on a pack of Duracell treble A's. I just use them, refuel when required and only investigate if I get a gut feeling that it's using more fuel than is acceptable. All this f-f-f-faffing around getting the last gloat-worthy drip out of the tank is a bit Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |
