Anyone know of a hitch receiver including tow thing (or however you may call it) which makes it possible for me to tow around 1500-200 kg? Preferably a combination with EU approval.
I now have a standard Land Rover tow bar which: a. gets me stuck whilst offloading b. sits way too high for the regular trailers I can hire in Holland. Buying my own trailer is not an option. Don't need it too often and more importantly, I don't have space on the driveway for it. |

As far as I am aware in the UK at least there isn't a receiver hitch available with type approval. That being said I think that you don't need type approval for towing equipment on n1 commercial vehicles though how that translates into the rest of the eu I don't know. This removable towbar set up may be an option, however I don't know if it has EU approval. I have the same problem, the standard LR towbar sits relatively low and I have used it as a plow and ground anchor several times! Thanks guys.
I've seen the receiver hitch, but I'm a bit hesitant in how it all works out if I'm involved in an accident. Not sure If I need the EU approval on a commercial vehicle, though I'm sure I would be devastated if I had to ring up the family telling them I won't be home before a couple of hundred diners to come. |
