Prop shaft uj's

You may have read in my other posts that since I had a recent service (which I was watching) there has been a distinct vibration mainly when accelerating or higher rpm's. I was just wondering if a prop uj can vibrate or be on its way out even if there's no real play? The thinking is that the only real thing that changed underneath is the uj's got re greased so I wondered if this could have pushed them over the edge but still kept them firm when checking for play. I may be talking rubbish but any input appreciated.

Never heard of greasing uj's causing any issues with them Ray, Easiest way to check them is to actually unbolt the prop from the diff/transfer box and check for play in and out aswel as side to side. Sometimes they can look to be fine when bolted up but can have obvious play in them when they are unbolted and removed

with the service it just had the oil and filters changed, a check around for any damage or corrosion on pipes/hoses etc and a bar in bushes to check for play which can't really cause an engine vibration IMO so the greasing of the uj's was the only thing I could think that could make a difference. It just seems too much of a coincidence that it only started after the service. For the price of them I might just change them to be 100% sure

If it were me I'd do a quick check of the propshaft bolts and a tap round of the UJ yolks with a soft faced mallet before getting some more grease into the joints. OR whip the shafts off and check to see if any of the joints have a tight spot, tap and grease as above and see if that improves any tight spots. Steve.
