I like it!

Drove an Ewok at LR Experience on Friday, thinking I would hate it but both SWMBO and I were surprised when we liked it inside. Would consider replacing her FL2 with one but once JLR have put in the new Ingenium engines would be interested in the Discovery Sport.

SWMBO's car will be due for replacement in Apr 2016 so the engines will be ready then but if we don't like it I don't know what the alternative would be. The Ewok was very nice but to spec one up is an eye-watering cost! 1970 Series 2A 88"

I too drove one off road about 6 months back, and I was impressed! I had very low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised! An engine to TDi for!

Is it really a Disco?

Is it not an EWOK mid-life facelift?

Now Gerry "one idea only" McGovern is in charge they all look the same anyway.

EWOK, RR, RRS, Discovery Vision Concept, Disco Sport.

The disappointing thing for me was the lack of differentiation between the RR products and the new Disco line. I can see why the RRE, FFRR, RRS would look alike but I expected the Discovery family to be different. Discovery Sport, Discovery 5 and at least one other member apparently.

Best image yet of Disco Sport undisguised seems to be some new toy car models. Very like the Discovery Vision concept which was very like the RRS.

Will no doubt be excellent vehicles to own but just a shame there isn't a strong Discovery identity.

Personally I think heading away from the 1980's layland parts bin special look of the discovery 1 is no bad thing, but yes some differentiation between the families wouldn't go amiss. It is just a pity that the smallest of the new ones are massive, a 'kei' sized example would be a real bonus to my mind. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Doesn't anyone else get sick of seeing the same thing driving around with a Land Rover badge somewhere on it? Around here all you see is Cayennes, Q7s, XC90s, Kia Sombreros, Hyundai Ultimate Offroaders, blah blah...

I don't know how much the new Discovery Rangerider Sport is going to cost but unless the build quality is bloody wonderful, I'd rather have an Audi or a Volvo. Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
