Hello!!!
I'm installing a Boost gauge on my TD5, but i've some doubt which is the tube to install the "T". Should i use this thin tube of the wastegate???

You should ideally tap the inlet manifold as you want the boost pressure after it's passed through the intercooler

I think the boost pressure is available via the engine diagnostics so for example an obd reader could read it from the ecu

I don't think the td5 defenders were Obd2 protocol compliant as being a duel purpose vehicle.(need nano com or some other special gizmo). But the pumas are. If running a boost box it would give a false reading. I have mine in the top of the inlet manifold at where the egr used to enter.

Have you checked Boost gauge reading with a reading from the ECU via a Nanocom etc? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I tried with a generic eBay obd2 reader, which sort of worked on the p38 and quite well on other cars, but it did not talk to the 2005 td5. Then I read some where (cannot remember) about the defenders not needing to comply.
Nano com wise I have never played with one. Range Rover p38 4.6 99 lpg(gone Sad )

generic code readers won't work

so either fit a EGR delete and drill tap this for 1/8pt nipple take off or remove inlet manifold (clean it while its off) and do the same you can then fit any generic boost gauge

I have seen the EGR blank kits with the boost gauge pipe welded on already, i would have gone for one of those had i seen one earlier.
