Chirping noise, chatter
Hi all, my 2007 110 has developed an unusual noise from the engine bay, it's not the turbo or the belt and doesn't affect power or performance and has no particular pattern! I'm just worried that it'll lead to something more serious.
Anyone experienced anything similar? And advice would be greatfully appreciated.

Could this be the gasket between turbo and exhaust manifold?

I had a chirping / chattering noise and it was the EGR valve, also when turning engine off EGR would screach instead of the chukka chukka sound.

Also could it be the old heat shield rattle?

Thanks for the replies, it's not a gasket, must be the egr valve. Is it a common fault?

I had a chirping noise from my Disco 3 recently, more particularly at tickover, it turned out to be the auxiliary belt tensioner, the pivot bearing was badly worn causing the two parts of the casing to rub together as the slight irregularities of the belt made it vibrate.

Hi David, I had it sold, got messed about so I changed my mind. I'd only be back to square one and buy another and spend a fortune on it too! For those who understand, no explanation is needed...
