Well after a few start up costs and niggles, it's done a further 3,000 miles fault free! It seems to run better the more frequently drive it. I thought after a string of D3s and 4s, and needing a more economical car for high mileage ( daily Merc c class) this old defender would just get me buy living out in the sticks where a 4 x 4 is needed for normal travel in parts of the winter..... But, the scary thing is, I prefer it to the 45 grand discos I used to drive!
It's got more character, it's more fun, and it's a defender , a true icon. I am elated, and have bought many a expensive motor other than landys in the past, but the defender it's the best of the bunch ! Since it's been behaving well I have (countless listens on YouTube) fancy a stainless exhaust system - any dos and donts in this department? I'd appreciate your advice guys! It's a non cat 10p engine so the MOT and cat thing doesn't apply to the vehicle 2001 Td5 CSW (weekend and snow mobile) Plenty of lights, M/T tyres EGR delete, roofrack, swing away wheel carrier, snorkel. 2016 E220 CDI Night Edition Estate 2014 VW UP! 2x D3 and 1x D4 GONE |
