Pretty sure I'm running standard springs on mine and I've just remounted my bumper with no perceptible change in handling or the way the vehicle sits.

When I fitted a winch to my former 300 Tdi the front end dropped by an inch or so so I fitted standard 90 rear springs, apparently these are the same as heavy duty front springs. Ride height was restored and you hardly knew the extra weight was there. 2005 Td5 90 XS

you will get away with std springs but they will sag quicker with time due to extra weight. depending on usage you will prob get 3-4yrs from them as they are.
when the time comes you can always fit 90 HD rears in the front when it does sag Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

I measured the height of my wheel arch before and after fitting and there was no difference but that said i didnt re measure after driving. The post before me may have a point about increased sag/wear over time but i think its so marginal that it could depend on lots of other driving wear and tear.

it also depends on what winch and rope is fitted. Cheers

My 110 DCPU has a D44 winch bumper (heavy) with a Superwinch Husky with steel rope and is on standard springs with no problems at all.

I guess your winch bumber and winch with steel cable will easily be 100 lbs heavier than your standard bumper so with standard springs 225lbs/inch each It would have gone down about a quarter off an inch. I think my set-up is a bit heavier and the height was not my main problem. The problem was charging up a hill like this: Click image to enlarge At the start off the hill I hit the bumpstops hard with the standard spring with the 275 lbs/inch springs that is a lot less. What did you decide on? I am looking at new springs and shocks for my 110 with winch fitted with steel wire. Most months I carry kit in the back mainly for car rallies(tools, extinguishers, recovery gear, chains etc) and tow a Harvey frost crane 1999 Defender TD5 110
