They are almost the same diameter according to my calculation ie 238 x 85% and 265 x 75%. There are differences however between manufactures too.
Personally I think you will be save but I am not an expert. If your front tyres or rear tyres are worn more then the others you don't directely have problems so that why I think you will be save. Is it legal to run different sizes on the same vehicle?
I've never thought about it. |

The only reason I ask is that they were on there when I bought the 90, just wondering if I can get a few more miles out of them.

Put your tyre sizes into this calculator and you will see the answer
I don't know if you can run the different sizes together but I am sure somebody will have an answer. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Bob |

different sizes will make the center diff work harder Puma 110" SW

235/85 circumference is 99.7"
265/75 circumference is 99.4" As they are so close there will be no issue running these as long as a pair of each is on each axle as previously stated. Running worn tyres and new would have the same if not greater effect. Andy |

So long as you have the same sizes on each axle you're fine.
A lot of cars run larger widths at the back. Obviously you'd never want to run different widths on the same axle because they'll have different braking performance. Those are nearly identical in circumference - use Bob's link. There was a thread on this recently and it was concluded that the extra work in the centre diff would be negligible.
