I have a galaxys5, I use it as a navigation system, a dash cam and occasionally I may have to receive a call whilst driving. In that case the audio is routed to the car speakers via a jack into the aux. In. My phone is protected by a side flipping wallet hard case thing which when in the car is held by a cradle I made from lego. The actual cradle is relatively robust but where it mounts to the dashboard is a definite weak link especially in the jimny but the defender isn't much better. What alternative mounts are worth a look at that will allow me to keep the phone in its case as I can see having to remove the case each time I get in the car will not be good for either the case or the phone?
Sorry for the round about question. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon. |

if using the camera , could you cut a hole in the case where the lens is , so case can be folded back round when in mount ?
not 100% I know but maybe a way out blue tooth for phone ? |

I have two RAM mounts in mine, brilliant bits of kit.
Can mount two phones, or use the camera attachment and have that mounted as well. I took the dash top off and bolted the base plate through. Solid as anything. I use the Galaxy for navigation and the other for just the business phone mainly. ![]() |

Along the more cheap and cheerful route:
O2/carphone warehouse/phones4u sell a suction cup adjustable phone holder for 7.99-9.99 ish which is brilliant. Simple but great. I've adapted it to bolt onto a bolt on the dash of the 110 which isn't too hard Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Tbh having looked at the alternatives I think my best option is to stick with the lego custom mount and re work the attachment points. Thanks for the options though. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
