Okay so an update after a week of being mucked about.
Got the td5 towed up to the dealership as I thought this would be the logical thing to do seeing as I'm off to Iceland in a week. they got it on friday and it was wednesday morning they looked at it after I begged them too, prior to this point I had just been fobbed off. So they looked at it and said they weren't keen to touch it as the dashboard had a few extra after market items on it. I can tell you that it is not a working replica of the space shuttle, just a few spot light switches two usb sockets and a volt meter. They argued the point saying that there were lots of wires hanging out where the stereo should be, yes I said that's the stereo wiring. So I got an auto electrician in who found two blown fuse lines to the 10as. and now it was asking for a code. But I don't have any fobs, so I can only assume the 10as unit has some how reset itself. So I as the dealers for some fobs to be programmed on thursday afternoon, on saturday they finally tell me their computer that lets them do it has broken down and they dont know when it will be fixed. hopefully it will be sorted in a day or two. Question: can I buy a second hand 10as unit with fob off fleebay and simply replace it with the other one? the TD5 is a 2006 hard top. does it have to be a particular type like the 270 or 280? |

I've seen a few on ebay with fobs, obviously without the fob you'd need to program one, if I just installed a second had 10as how do you go about coding it to the ecu if that's what needs to be done.
I'm getting concerned that the dealership won't come through so I figured I'd try and sort it myself. |

If its same you need to plug it in and force it to learn new code from ecu , ive done hundreds of rover cars butnever played with the land rover as10
sorry dont know what system you would need to program another unit to it it must be coded thinking about it , otherwise you could plug new unit in and drive away ( steal it ) why cant they code a fob to it or get the eka code |

That's what I'm praying for munch90 but the dealership are proving pretty useless!
I asked for the keys on thursday, but didn't bother telling me their computer was knackered until saturday and they only told me cause I did my nut at them for taking so long and fobbing me off with 'we'll call you in the morning' or 'we'll look at it this afternoon'. I asked if it could be done at another branch but they couldn't answer that on saturday so I guess I need to go back up there and hang around until I get a result. There, I feel a little better now. |

You'll need something like a nanocom to make the 10AS unit "learn" the engine (or is it vica verse, engine ECU learns the 10AS)
Anywho, it takes about 3 seconds to do... with the correct bit of kit! |

A friend has just said pretty much the same thing, I think the problem is that the ecu is now not reading the 10as.
I will ask the dealership to investigate if they can be bothered. |
