Defender 110 Automatic Gearbox
Hello,

A friend of mine wants to get a Defender 110 Puma brand new and convert it to Automatic Gearbox, does anyone know where I can find someone to help him with the conversation and how much would it cost ?

He wants a White 110 Defender new LHD Automatic.

Thank you in advance, 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition

Ashcroft transmissions is the company but you only get a 4 speed box though Neutral

Supposedly kahn offer a 6 speed conversion but it's over 9k

Just been laning in the Lakes yesterday in an Ashcroft Puma 2.4 4 speed auto with compushift. Cost was 5.5k fitted IIRC. It was a good match. JB

I like the look of the Ashcroft one...£4335...details here http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/de...o-kit.html Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Four speed boxes are so agricultural compared to the latest 8 speed boxes LR are fitting, the costs just don't seem to add up next to the relative improvement.

a fasir bit more complexity in the newer boxes too.

If i was doing it i would have the Ashcroft 4 speed for simplicity - if there is such a thing with a compushift box! Cheers

I converted my 90 to auto with the Ashcroft kit and really rate it. Ashcrofts are a top company as well. They are the acknowledged experts on LR transmissions but also very easy to talk to as an individual retail DIY customer.
