Handbrake relocation
I have bought a Range Rover Classic handbrake lever so I can convert my Td5. Doing a search on here it seems pretty easy and well worth doing.

Before I start drilling holes in the wrong place, can anyone who has done this provide me with dimensions,so that I can position it correctly?

I intend to position on drivers side, between cubby box and drivers side.

Thanks in advance

Mike

I set mine an inch further back and hence didn't need to adjust the cable. To be honest I would have put it even further back so that it never rubs your leg.

Just be careful about how far back you put it especially if you still have a Td5 cubby box (which has a longer 'nose' than a Puma cubby box). I installed mine where I thought would be right and it's actually slightly too far back. I'm living with it for the time being, and because I have a Puma cubby box in mine it works OK. If I still had the Td5 cubby box, it would be impossible to grab the handbrake lever when it's down (off) and I would have to move it forward. It's all about the relationship of the handle with the seatbox edge - you want it so that a good amount of handle is projecting forward of the seatbox when the lever is down (off) so you can grab hold of it easily. Otherwise it's in the gap between the driver's seat squab and the cubby box and you can't get your fingers round it. Seems obvious, but when you've got the cubby box out to fit it you lose the point of reference! 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green
