From a fat bloke that loves 'Banjos'......

A bacon or sausage on it's own in bread is just a sandwich, nothing more.....it only becomes be a banjo with an egg added. The expression of 'banjo' comes from when you bite into it and the egg yolk ends up on your clothing the action of the person mopping up the yolk looks similar to that of a banjo player.
