Hub inner seal
Im in the process of rebuilding the hubs on my 1996 defender 90.
Its been a while since i stripped it down, and now cant remember which way the inner hub seal goes. Ive searched but found nothing

One face of the seal has a flexible thin lip that protrudes of the base of the seal about 5-6mm.

If i flip the seal over, the seal is recessed and channeled around its circumference.

So which side faces the bearing?

The thin dangly bit of the seal should face outwards / away from the hub. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

There are a couple of good YouTube tutorials worth watching. The Trailer Fitters are very good.

The soft flappy bit pointing towards you.

Cheers guys. Still no better off then, as one says one thing, and another person says opposite haha.

Hmm ... I guess my bit about the lettering may of been confusing! I'll re-word!

Perfect mate, thankyou for that!

I think my stub axels need a good clean up then. Seals have been the wrong way round
