I've been looking half heartedly for a sort while, hoping to pick one up at a show, I was at Eastnor last weekend. No joy so I went on the website and ordered one from the manufacturer;

Tut tut, where is the slapped bottom icon when you need it?
We normally take a boxful of Defendoors to shows with us and have even been know (shock horror) to throw them in consignments as freebies. I need to go and lie down now So why don't you ask your forum sponsors first Brendan |

I've had two and lost both. Never saw the going of them but they weren't taken.
They came off of their own accord, for this reason alone I can't be bothered with them. If only the had a lanyard that went around the cap it couldn't happen. (Think strimmer fuel cap retainer) You could get the drill out and do it that way but IMO not going yo be doing that. |

All I can say Steve is you are a careless so and so.
Have one on for 6 years now and not managed to loose it yet. Probably quite a unique one as it an AULRO badged one Losing them at fuel stations? Solution is quite simple. Take it off and put in left hand, remove fuel cap and put it in left hand or allow to dangle on strap. Fill fuel tank using right hand on fuel nozzle. Reassembly is the reverse ensuring that the Defendoor is correctly positioned. Brendan |

Living as I do in the forgotton corner of England, next to Wales, we don't get out much. Especially to the proper shows were you go Brendan. Though saying that, I bet you'll be at LandyLive next weekend, I'll make a special effort to purchase another one off your stand on Saturday if you are

I have never lost it myself. (I think, he says carefully! )
Funny part is I have always driven the same stretch of road the A46 which I don't drive too often and it came off there both of them. Maybe it's the extra speed, wind or something. Anyway, enough chit chat! It's a good product I just haven't got around to getting another. This was the sort of thing I was thinking maybe something could be done with: Click image to enlarge I tried something before but the adhesive wouldn't adhere. |

Same here. I went up your way for the first time about a month ago, quite enjoyed it. That's like going abroad to me. |

It's a funny old place to live for getting anywhere. We've not got big physical barriers like sea but the main road runs North to South, 99% of that is just a 2 lane main road. The nearest motorway that goes anywhere, again North to South is an hour away, but saying that, I'm on the doorstep to some great greenlaning, I've allmost forgotten the noise of living near a motorway when it's wet, my Defender is pefectly adequate to keep up with the traffic flow, to be honest any Land Rover ever produced would keep up with the pace of traffic round here

Well you have just lost the bet! A donation to your favourite charity will suffice as a forfeit. Brendan |

I've had several and found them a good idea, however I have noticed them in my mirror come off of their own accord and I know for sure that I'd fitted them correctly after refueling. Some kind of lanyard is a must. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Wouldn't recommend using Defendoor.co.uk. Personally ordered 2 x fuel covers, they only sent one and after many emais from me, they never addressed my complaints. So paid for two, only received one! Like BOGoff but reversed.... Sham!

I shall be putting some of the Bank of Englands finest towards the Help for Heroes and will be purchasing a plain cover from yourselves on Saturday Brendon.
Damn that was a costly slip of the keyboard |
