as far as I know they all corrode without protection , but give a new one a good spray of battery terminal protector and it will last for years and your only have to spray it once when new
the spray is thick so stays where you spray it ive never had to replace one yet |

Will get a LR one (overpriced at £10 + VAT) Will protect this time with battery terminal grease (and a pvc cover) |

load the back of socket with terminal spray where wires connect

Go genuine, if ever you were to sell it (if*) that's the sort of thing people look for.

Not planning to sell. Haven't been to dealer yet, but he's ordered it for me.
Will get LR this time as its not a huge amount in absolute terms. Maypole one on ebay for £2.55 delivered, LR one £12.00 |

My local Landrover dealerl supplied a 12n socket made by Hella. No Landrover label on it like the original.
Came in a Land Rover cardboard box though (no i don't mean the car I drive it back in) |

The last thing I would be looking out for when buying a used Defender is the manufacturer of the trailer electrics socket! |
