motor moans on shut down

My 108K 2.4 Tdci started making a 3 second ish moan or sigh recently. Seems to be coming from the Turbo side of the motor and happens just after being turned off. It's not loud but can be heard from within the car if all is quiet. It should be the EGR as it's disabled by a remap, and doesn't sound like the chuka chuka thing. The sound is constant and even.
