Coolant leaking?.. It's orange.

Do you need to top-up the coolant?

It looks like water ingress behind and under the passenger side dash. Have the same problem but dealer hasn't solved it yet. If you look behind the foam backed lining you will find the end of a small metal channel at the door edge. You can just about get your finger in and you will find dry rust after a dry spell or wet rust after a heavy downpour. Had the problem again after heavy rain last week and could actually scoop rusty water out of the end of the channel. Would appreciate any input as to where this water is coming from.

Me too. Water seems to get in during a down poor, sits there untill you drive off, and then it leaks into the footwell. Now got a nice metal channel, orange on the inside. Makes you wonder what else is rusting out of site! Also waitnig for the dealer to fix it. Will post if I get a sensible solution. You live in hope.

Mine's not orange but I get a puddle on my rubber mats Rolling Eyes

My latest thought is that it's the bonnet hinge letting water drip through the back of the bonnet and onto the ventilation fan (near side). it runs down there and through to the grid in the passenger footwell that is the internal air feed to the ventilation.

It should be easy for me to verify - just need a couple of hours. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

The footwell leak i had for a long time many fixes well...didnt.

They eventually solved it by removing the wing, heaterbox etc and refitting after sealing it all back in...so far so good.

As for the internal gutter dripping water - this has been a feature (or issue) of defenders since the dawn of time. The water most of the time is condensation apparently Mike
