Yes it was the 20amp fuse in the secondary fuse box. Though one key fob battery needs changing and the central locking doesn't seem to fully operate now. |

I think they maybe two or more fuse all linked to alarm ,central locking
maybe worth running through rest of fuses , some are not marked with everything they protect or maybe a wiring problem with central locking that caused fuse to blow that's why it's not working as it should I would start checking the wires between body and doors , maybe wire broke and shorted to blow fuse in the first place |

It's possible with the main fuse blown you have lost synch with the fobs easy to relearn with a nanocom or the likes but there is a re synch sequence to do with the fobs manually do a search on google how to do it it's also possible your alarm ecu has a fault I'm sure there are 3 fuses on the alarm system both under the drivers seat and 2 In The dash

What munch said is a good place to start. The central locking actuator wires are prone to breaking in the flexible conduit between the car body and the doors. If you have a door where the central locking actuator doesn't work start there. |

On a slightly unrelated topic, now that I have replaced my fob battery when I unlock my Defender (07) with the remote, unless I open the driver's door it re-locks itself after a minute or so. Fair enough, it may be a safety feature. However here are my questions:
1) why if I open the passenger's door or any other door than the driver's, the car still re-locks itself? 2) can the automatic re-locking be disabled? Thanks guys, ciao |

the drivers side interior light switch is on a different circuit to the passenger and rear door light switches on a 90
don't know what set is used on a 110 guess it would be the same as in drivers door different circuit |

thanks munch90, much appreciated. it makes perfect sense. Now to my second question: can I disable the re-locking? the problem is that I am terrible in knowing where my keys are (not just the car keys, any key), and i'm pretty sure that one day the Defender is going to lock my keys inside

yes as far as I know it can be switched off , I know other rovers do the re locking as part of the thatcham regs for cat1 alarm
you would need diagnostic machine to do it that's allowing there is not a problem in the unit have you tried just disconnecting battery in defender for few mins then try see if it still does it |
