2001 110 Station Wagon
Hi folks,

I'm looking at a 2001 TD5 110 Station Wagon, looks in good nick generally with only the doors that look to be in bad condition.

I have however noted a couple of things I'm not 100% sure about.

Weeping oil on the sump (looks like sump gasket);
Weeping oil on the transfer box (not sure if it's gearbox or transfer box oil);

The transfer box was replaced about 18 months ago with a disco box.

Anything I should be concerned about?

The sump gasket looks like an easy enough fix, but what's the reality???

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Cheers

You are going to find they all weep! See it more as 'marking its territory' ! 1951 80" S1 2.0

It's just gaskets, they are everywhere and decompose after a while causing leaks.

Just had my engine sump gasket replaced which was causing a leak since bought the car over a year ago, garage found the turbo gasket was leaking too!

Thanks,

I guess that's the question, are the seals on the crankshaft and gearbox normally quite good, I.e. Not a common weakness?

I'm ok with wee page provided it's not serious and it's fixable by me.

Gearbox out job is not something I can or would wish todo on the driveway.

Cheers
