Seen this happen with a D3 in a field, if all the wheels lose grip then the traction control doesn't sense any difference between wheels, by braking you can sometimes fool the traction control. But at the end of the day no grip means no grip means no go. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

I know we can all pass judgement on what we see and yes it is highly amusing and entertaining but it's just one of those conditions that catch even the best out. At the end of the day the Deerpark is a managed field venue, the ground has to carry many events throughout the year and after an event like this one the ground staff will work the top inch or so to get the grass reestablished again but under that inch the ground has been capped and doesn't allow water to soak in and away like a normal permanent pasture so when we have the mild monsoon it just turns the top inch or so into a grassy slime.
As the evening came on the sun and breeze were drying the site out quite nicely but people need to move to get home and not wait for nature to take it's course. Was highly amusing though |

I know Richard the D3 driver and he is a trained professional recovery man. His D3 is on mud tyres. I spoke to him at the event and he said he didmt know whether it was car or driver, but it felt like he was trying to drag the qe2...
Saw plenty of motors stuck, including mud shod defenders, series, d2s and d3s. Even saw an evoke on road tyres drive past a stuck defender on muds.... V8 90...WIP |

With a kinetic rope he might have had a chance.
Lower the tire pressure to about 1.3 bar and would have been driving away. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |

The Disco was moving till he dig himself in. So the lower tire pressure helpt. The RR should have reduced the tire pressure.
If he had a kinetic rope he could have recovered the RR. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |
