Disconnect the battery completely for a while then reconnect (ten 15 mins) try it then, worth a go.

There is a synchronisation process to carry out after changing key fob battery should be in the hand book if you have that with you. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Just looked in my hand book it says to press padlock symbol at least four times within range of the car to synchronise fob after changing battery in fob. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Result - Just before going for the Basil Fawlty, beating with a branch trick, had a look under the seat and the fuse for the central locking was certainly blown, the immobilizer ones looked alright but slightly blackened. Had a swap round and she fired up, which is the main thing! Although key fob still doesn't work, and it keeps blowing the central locking fuse but at least shes home.

Just check the wiring from the door pillars to the doors, it may be a couple of broken wires shorting out and blowing the fuse when you activate the locks.

I agree with above, seems a bit like that might well be likely.

Cheers chaps will check that out. I did look like a bit of a lemon ranting at my Landy, still, only took me 5 hours to figure it out

Checked the wiring to the drivers door, sure enough a broken wire. All put back together and central locking works a dream.
