Fitting new ancillary belt
Have brought a new belt and plan to fit it tomorrow. Have also acquired viscous fan spanner to remove this prior to fitting. Is there any tips on doing this as it is my first time Neutral
cheers Tommo

Takes about 10 mins, if you want to you can remove the fan cowl along top of rad panel note the route the belt takes move tensioner back and remove old belt. Fitting new one is just reverse oh and no need to remove viscous fan I would keep that in place on a td5 Thumbs Up 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

As above, definitely remove the plastic cowl. You'll also need a 15mm ring spanner to rotate the tensioner.

Quick and easy job.

A tip I learnt was not to just release the auto tensioner, but to force it into the belt, it made mine quieter.

Well its done but no thanks to LR Mad
I brought the belt from them and took me awhile to get the belt off (took it off underneath). Went to fit new belt but it didn't fit as it turns out they had given me a td5 discovery belt. Following a interesting conversation with the parts dept I re-fitted the old belt and collected the new.
Fitting the new took 2omins and now all is well.
One thing that caused me headache was getting the old belt back on but eventually worked out to slide it onto the viscous fan pully (once the rest was lined up) was the best way to get it on and it proved correct as the new one took 2omins.
