Im not sure about the spring as with the old tyres/wheels on I always thought it had been lifted as it always looked taller than other 90's with similar tyres on but have contacted the po and he said its on std springs and as we intend to go out green laning and stuff together I think he his telling the truth but all 4 springs are yellow in colour but the rear springs have been painted black as they had a little rust on them Graham 1988 Defender 90 county 200tdi ( Beast ) Paul Walker 1973-2013 ( I Almost Had You ) |

You might need to lift it a little otherwise it will eat your wings.

Agree with all of the above ^^
The Insa Special Tracks are awesome off road and make an "interesting" noise/howl on the road at speed, although speed isn't really a consideration when I am driving the S2A. Enjoy them but if you are using the car every day, when it gets to the winter, a set of standard AT/road tyres might be advisable. The Special Tracks are known for being tricky in the wet/on ice. 1970 Series 2A 88" |

I had a set of Insa Turbo Special Tracks on my last 90 and they were dangerous on the road in the wet
Flippin loud too... plus as an added bonus if you ever have an accident your insurance will be void as they're not for on-road use. I ended swapping them for BF muds and to be honest they got me 90% of the places I needed to go and were better all round |

Why are the Insa's, Simexes not for road use?
I have to admit that the profile does not help in the wet and a BFG mud is much better on the road but on sticky clay a bfg or simular does get close to the very open simex-insa thread pattern. The tyre has to suit the terrain you drive, the only problem is there is no tyre that is the best on all terrains. That seems to be the norm with these tyres. On the road they're risky to say the least, they're remoulds too hence the cheap price.... http://forum.landrovernet.com/showthread.p...urbo-tyres http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?option=c...view=topic If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! With MT's you have to go careful what ever you have on. But for a good MT with slightly better road manners STT's and KM2's are the winners.
Still have yo be careful though and know your limits! After a while of always driving on them you know when you must not push it too far too. |
